Family Fun Day Festival Wrap Up

Hello Team Autism!

As you can imagine, it’s been a whirlwind of excitement here at PAC as we prepare ourselves for the summer season of raising funds and raising awareness and we’re thrilled to have all of you joining us as we march closer to our goal of building a state of the art Play Place for Autistic Children. Every day we are humbled to talk to families who are so thankful that a resource like this is coming to our community and we couldn’t be more excited to do everything we can to help bring it to fruition. One of our first fundraisers happened just a few weeks ago and it was a big success!

On Saturday, April 21st, PAC hosted a Family Fun Day Festival free of charge for parents and kids of all ages who were looking for a day of fun. We filled the gym at Lutheran North High School with all kinds of fun activities and food, giving families a chance for a relaxing and fun day together. Bounce houses, a DJ and dance floor, and an outdoor train ride gave kids and parents a chance to get some exercise and enjoy the day. Clowns, face painting, coloring stations and other crafts let kids be creative and leave with a personalized souvenir. And the food! Coneys provided by National Coney Island, pucker powder, cookies of all kinds, popcorn and drinks, all provided for free, helped to make the day extra special for all of the families who attended as well as the volunteers (who made the whole day possible).

We were so encouraged and wowed by the outpouring of support we had from the community for our Family Fun Day Festival as well as our first raffle drawing. The smiles and good times had by all the families involved are just a preview of the things we look forward to doing with the permanent PAC facility. But we can’t do it without you. There are many opportunities coming up in the future to help support PAC and have a little fun as well. On June 29th, we’ll be hosting our first ever “Play for PAC” golf outing at the beautiful Sycamore Hills Golf Course; and later in the summer we’ll be hosting a special Pancake Breakfast for kids and families to come out and enjoy. So, keep both of those dates on your calendar and share with family and friends!
As always, we are overwhelmed with your support and cherish your dedication to what we believe is an extremely important cause. None of this would be possible without the involvement and encouragement of all of you, and we look forward to watching PAC grow right along with you.

Until next time, take care!

The PAC family.
